M.T., Great review of some disastrous outcomes throughout history, that started out as a seemingly, somewhat benign Cookie Collecting, that settled into confiscating the entire Cookie Jar! Guess we need to make all of the Cookie Jars unavailable to government and take all Cookies off of the shelves!! FJB!!! F HIS MENSTRUATION!!!!!

Why do people keep commenting on what the government owns? Legally, under the Constitution, there is no "city" of Washington, District of Colombia! It is a seat for the government jointly owned by some 320 million LEGAL U.S. CITIZENS! It is the same with every tank, weapon, and all the ships at sea -- We the People own everything, together! Those two parties that compete to control and enslave the Legal Citizens are organized crime! Constitutionally, they don't have any legal standing. There is no Constitutional "one nation". There is a Union of 50 sovereign, Constitutional States --fifty nations! The citizens of each of those Nations own all the real estate within the nation individual States. That is why the 17th Amendment was a criminal endeavor to steal Rights. originally, the Senators were selected by the State Legislature to protect the sovereign Rights of each State.

Roger, not only do I totally agree with you but, wow, you made me think in ways I hadn't considered previously! Like, we, the people, own everything and everything is not owned by the government. I know this but, the way you put it makes me think, "Oh, yeah! Didn't think of it this way." Why didn't I think of it this way, too? I guess this makes YOU the genius!! Thanks for the post!

I like the sentiment presented and the basis of it. However, we must be very careful to keep our reports factual or we provide opportunity for the anti-gun community to dismiss us. My check of laws in New Zealand does not support the statement that New Zealand has banned all guns. Check out the prohibited weapons according to New Zealand police at https://www.police.govt.nz/advice-services/firearms-and-safety/prohibited-offensive-weapons. Please make sure the facts support the statements.

Sir M.T. didn't specifically say that Firearms were Banned, as a matter of fact he really only mentions banning of knives in New Zealand. I'm not denying of what you said to be the absolute truth, not whatsoever because the facts do matter.
