Dangerous & Misleading Ballot Initiatives the New Tactic?

By John Petrolino
3

We’ve seen the damage that can be done with ballot initiatives in several states. The topic of so-called “gun control” can and has snuck its way into law through this effort. The problem with ballot initiatives is that they’re often more misleading than the bills that are proposed in the legislative houses. Ballot initiatives can be akin to getting someone to sign a petition.

Picture it, a bunch of kids and soccer moms standing outside a grocery store, and they approach shoppers that are on their way back to their vehicles form shopping; “Hi, would you like to sign our petition that’s against the murder of children?” And every and any sane human being would say “Yes, I’m against the murder of children” and sign away. We all know the devil is in the details and the “murder of children” the petitioner is trying to stop is in the way of the complete ban of firearms. Ballot initiatives and petitions are regularly sold as one thing, when in reality they actually do another. In short, they’re great sales pitches.
