"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

-Abraham Lincoln.

Desperate people are known to be capable of nearly anything. Those whom have only a diet of deceit sow seeds of fear and harvest lies. We are witnessing the decay of facts and dying truths derived by a disingenuous narrative. Repeated falsities eventually are believed, by even those who once knew differently.

Mr. Mark Robinson, Community Editorial Board for CT Mirror, has obviously taken hold of the narrative in his article,"The Second Amendment Doesn’t Say That....." Robinson claims that, "I respect the Second Amendment, but it's got nothing to do with an individual's right to bear arms." He actually attempted to support his argument misrepresenting the outcome of United States v. Miller, 307 U.S. 174 1939. Robinson said that the Second Amendment only pertains to militias and not to individual citizens. The deception is as clear as the nose on his farcical face, the Primary Holding of US v. Miller is “Only weapons that have a reasonable relationship to the effectiveness of a well-regulated militia under the Second Amendment are free from government regulation.” Robinson claims the preamble of the Second Amendment extends beyond the actual content. Very much like gun controllers had until D.C. v. Heller.

In Ultima Verba, we quickly researched the overview of the Supreme Court's rulings on the Second Amendment. In it and here above, the Court said nothing specifically against people's natural ability to bear arms. The Miller case came about because of a very short barreled shotgun, the National Firearms Act and common use firearms. Mark Robinson carries on about the "national consensus" and an eighty-year doctrine of "collective right" opposed to individual's rights. This all changed he asserts because of District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S.  570 2008. The Court ruled the Second Amendment to reference an individual right, citing, "The Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home."
